Faulkland Island Fox

The Fantastic Falkland Island Fox

The Falkland Island fox is an extinct fox that is part of the canid family.

Description
Walnut ticked coat with a white tail tip, the fox is very striking.  It’s tail was very bushy, dark browny black.  It’s ears stood high on it’s head and it’s claws per prominent.

Diet
They got seafood like oysters, scallops and white crabs, making them carnivorous.

Habitat
Their habitat was the East and West coasts of The Falkland Islands.  Even though they liked forests they did not have much of that habitat on the island.  This lack of ideal cover may have contributed to their demise.

Extinction
In the east, they became extinct in 1840.  In the west, they became extinct in 1874.  Settlers from the island were threatened by the fox as they believed they hunted their sheep.  There is no doubt they were over hunted by humans.

In conclusion, I think it is sad because people killed the Falkland Island Fox.
