Can you work it out?

The Fuzzy Wuzzy Fullstops were working out the difference between the short 'i' sound and the short 'e' sound. We concentrated on the shape of our mouth when each sound was made.
Short 'e' is smiley. Short 'i' is a boring face. Can you see each one in the photos?

    This took me a very long time to sort it out...
    Is e the bottom and i the top
    Im not too sure but I think I've got it.
