The Leaf Boats

Today the Hairy Maclarys read the story The Leaf Boats. We went outside and found some big leaves. Then we curled the stem of the leaf to make leaf boats. We tried to float them in the river but they SANK!

Oh no, we got rained out.  We came back o school just before lunch time.  I'm super proud of everyone's attitude, not one single grumble.  What an awesome class!

Hoop Trundling

Today we learnt how to play a game from the olden days called hoop trundling. We had to roll the hoop and hit it lightly with a stick to keep it up. The goal is to control the movement of the hoop with the stick. When it fell down we had to pick it up and try again. We had to pick it up lots but we tried very hard to keep it up straight and steady. It was harder than it looked. We loved playing hoop trundling.
