We also thought about symmetry, translation, rotation, repetition, found other 2d shapes in the quilt as well. Well done team on great maths and a brain work out!

Mathematical quilting
Today we used Amy's fantastic quilt that she is making for our maths inquiry. We had to think of a systematic way to calculate all the squares and rectangles. Find and Measure the largest and smallest shape. We were working in cooperative groups. We had to think about dividing the labour in the group, sharing, taking turns.
