The Lion of Paris - Descriptive Poems

We read an amazing story today called A lion in Paris.  It's about the lion statue that was built in 1880 in Place Denfert-Rochereau. (that's very hard to pronounce!)  The children wrote descriptive poems about the lion.

mysterious brave lion
was an amazing sight
handsome
brave
People around him stare in awe
Bronze black
Silver stone plinth
Paris lion

Lachlan

amazing proud beast
curious from his resting place
waiting for someone to notice him
he is a lonely king
roaring
waiting
enchanted handsome lion

Julia and Katie

The majestic lion king
siting there all Saturday morning
every year hearing the some noise
cars toting motorbikes
beeping like its never going to end
tall tower’s shadow overpower
like zombies rising from the dead
feeling sad

by  Paige and Elizabeth

Mysterious coal black beast
Handsome, muscular and confident
Roaring
“Notice me!” he roars
Bronze and stone
Cold heart
Lonely
Yet surrounded by people
Where is my pride he wonders
Alone

by Fergus and Logan

The brave King
Defiant lion
Muscular and fierce
Surveying the Eifel tower
Intelligent beast
Waiting 135 years for a real life
Dreaming of the free world,
of the wildness,
of his friends
his pride
Proud Paris king
